MARIE J. (JAUNTY) LOWE Jaunty passed away quietly at home early Friday, September 24, 2010 surrounded by the love of her family. Left to mourn her loss are her children, Robert and Annette, Richard (Phyllis), Jackie and Harold; her grandchildren, Robyn and Pierre, Bre and Danny, Katherine, Aaron and Laura, Jordan, Josh, Raemi, Jennifer and Dave, Holli and Gary, Peter and Kim; great-grand-children, Jessy, Adrian, Damian, Lukas, Tegan, Dawson, Kaia, Braden, Lucien, Chloe, Noah and Joel; great-great-grandson Cayden; as well as by her brother Kingsley Langtry; sister Pat (Bud) Langtry; sisters-in-law, Frances Lowe and Janet Proudfoot. Jaunty was predeceased by her husband Bob; her parents; sister Lillo Hower; and brother Dick Langtry. Jaunty was born in Stonewall, November 22, 1923 the third child of Cecil A. and Cecil J. Langtry. She has lived in Stonewall all her life, marrying Bob Lowe in 1945 and raising their family there. She was always active in her community, involved with Scouting, Guiding, raising funds for the first artificial ice for the Stonewall arena and later working at the local ball diamond tournaments and Pan Am Games. Over the years Jaunty's accounting skills led her to several different jobs ranging from insurance sales to Manitoba Veterinary Services. In her retirement years she enjoyed her yard, knitting, quilting and the redevelopment of the Royal Motors property on Main Street. Mom most especially enjoyed her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, music, family picnics and supper at The Lake . Mom will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in mom's memory to Southwest District Palliative Care, CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of one's choice. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Stonewall United Church (369 1st Avenue North). Rev. Leonard Oracheski will officiate. Interment will follow at the Stonewall Cemetery. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
