ERNA VIOLA RINELLA (nee BUECKERT) Peacefully on September 20, 2010 at Poseidon Care Centre, our beloved mother and grandmother, Erna, passed away at the age of 85. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Joyce Hadaller, Janice Cummine (Gordon), Lois Bellmore (Bob); grandsons David (Kim), Andrew, Michael (Priscilla), Aaron (Tricia), Matthew (Stephanie), Daniel and Nathan, granddaughter Amanda and great-grandchildren Dillon, Alyssa, Luke, Tayler, Shilah, Vincent and Danika. She will also be fondly remembered by numerous friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent (2003) and her son-in-law Tom Hadaller (2002), as well as her parents and siblings. When her family was young, Erna stayed home to care for their three daughters, sewing pretty clothes for them and cooking all their favourite foods. Mom took pleasure in welcoming family and friends to their home for Sunday dinners and for the celebration of special occasions. When the family grew older, she and Vince opened the Gondola Pizza restaurant in St. Vital. Upon their retirement, they enjoyed spending winters together in Mesa, Arizona where Vince played for the local seniors' baseball team and Erna joined the other wives to cheer for them. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 710 Roanoke Street in Transcona, with Father Ed Bonin officiating. Following the service, a time of fellowship and refreshment will be held in the Parish Hall. Interment will occur on Thursday, September 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Donations in Mom's memory may be made to CancerCare, as a tribute to her best friend and soul mate, Vincent, who she deeply missed during the last years of her life. The family would like to thank the staff at the Poseidon Care Centre for all their care and compassion. MOM You can only have one mother - loving, kind and true. No other friend in all the world will be so true to you. For all her love and kindness she asked for nothing in return. If all the world deserted us - to our mother we could turn. For those of you who have a Mother - treasure her with care. For you will never know what heartache is till you see that she is not there. To hear her voice, to see her smile, to sit and talk with her awhile. She leaves a place no one could fill. We love you Mom and always will. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
