Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUIS LAURENDEAU July 28, 1936 - September 23, 2010 On September 23 at Ste Anne-Hospital, after a courageous battle with C.H.F and Diabetes, Louis was released from his pain and entered into eternal rest. Louis is survived and will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family: wife of 49 years, Dolorès (Beauchemin); children: Jocelyne, Rachel (Derek Plas), Marcel (Heather Plett), Jean-Louis (Cynthia Plett) and Lynne (Martin Ross); and cherished grand-children: Danika and Corin, Nicole, Julie and Madeline, Abigail and Jackson and Ayah; also survived by one sister Marie-Anna Bruce; sister-in-law June Laurendeau; and brother-in-law Adrien Bruce, many other in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Raoul and Diana (Pilon); his sisters, Rose Bruce, Jeannette (Murray) Lavallée; his brother Roland; and a special infant grandson Matthew. A hard working man, whose priorities were family and faith, Louis was especially proud of his 24-year association with Trimac Transportation Services as an owner-operator. He was proud of his Métis roots and at a young age learned the traditional Red-River jig. He also loved to call and dance square dances - bringing a special joie de vivre to many social and family gatherings. In his retirement years, many happy hours were spent tending to the parish grounds and cemetery, feeding the birds, gardening, mowing the lawn and sitting around bonfires with the family. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the medical teams who became such a vital part of his life especially in the last few years - to Dr. Lemoine and staff at Ste. Anne Hospital, Dr. G. Drobot and ER medical staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their professional and dedicated care, as well as the home care women, Melanie and Jan who looked after Louis with special care and dignity. Special thanks to Fr. René Chartier and S. Irène Rioux for the spiritual guidance and hospital visits that meant so much to us. Prayer services will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Notre-Dame-de-la-Miséricorde Roman Catholic Church in Ile des Chênes, followed at 2:00 p.m. by the Funeral Mass presided by Fr. Celestin. Cremation has taken place with private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Kidney Foundation of Canada Manitoba Branch, 452 Dovercourt Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3Y 1G4, would be appreciated. Dad, Pépére, rest in peace - We love you! LeClaire Brothers in care of arrangements. 775-2220
