MARY (VOTH) REIMER September 20, 1920 - September 26, 2010 Mary Reimer passed away peacefully on September 26, 2010, after a full and fruitful life. She is survived by Diedrich, her loving husband of 68 years. Mary is also survived by her children: Jack (Dorothy), Al (Shirley), Dick (Mary) and Jim (Elaine); grandchildren: Jonathan (Amy), David (Jenny), Caroline (Jason), Michael (Lina), Julia, Kate, Andrew, and William, and great-grandsons: Charles and Aneil. She was predeceased by her brother Peter and sister Sarah, and is survived by her sisters: Anne, Eva, and Olga, and her brother John. Mary was born and raised on the Voth family farm in the Altona area, daughter of Anna (Krueger) Voth (1894 to 1990) and Peter Gerhard Voth (1896 to 1967). Mary and Diedrich were married on January 11, 1942, and spent their lives together as parents and homemakers. Mary had a long, happy, and productive life, filled with work and family. She loved to cook and entertain, and few Saturdays passed without visiting friends. She provided care to many through her work in the Victorian Order of Nurses. She lived life to the fullest measure, never shying away from a challenge or participation. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, who dealt positively and pragmatically with the many challenges of life. Her loving and thoughtful nature extended to all in her community, which centered on family, friends, and her church community at Home Street Mennonite Church. The family thanks the staff at Lindenwood Manor and the Middlechurch Care Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4G2. Funeral service and reception will be held Thursday, September 30, 10:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held Wednesday, September 29, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. also at Thomson Funeral Home.
