ARTHUR LECLAIR It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Arthur Leclair, aged 89, on September 25, 2010. Dad is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary, the love of his life. He is also survived by his sons Rick (Claudette), and John; his beloved grandchildren, Michelle (Brian), Dan (Megan), great-grandchildren, Victoria, Austin, Harrison (Michelle and Brian) and Owen (Dan and Megan); and his twin brother Lionel. Dad will be fondly missed by the staff and residents of Misericordia Place, his church community and friends, especially Fred. Dad was born on May 20, 1921 and spent much of his youth in an orphanage. He joined the army in 1941 and was sent overseas where he served in England, France and Belgium, and was there for the liberation of Holland. Following his return in 1945, he married Mary Willick who he had been courting before he went to war. He made the military a career and served until 1967. During this time dad was sent to Korea and served with the R.C.E.M.E. After his military career ended he worked at Deer Lodge Hospital where he was fondly liked and admired by his fellow workers. He retired in 1986. Upon retirement, he enjoyed his church community and friends, Dad's strong faith was an inspiration to all of us. He was an engaging, outgoing man with a great sense of humour and a love of sports. Mom and dad liked to go on bus trips and walks together, they would often stop for coffee and talk with friends. They were constantly together, he loved mom very much and was totally devoted to her. When mom went to her personal care home, dad visited her four to five times a week, ensuring she was cared for.
