Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD NEGREY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, suddenly on September 22, 2010. Edward or Eddie, as most people referred to him, will be lovingly remembered and missed by his daughter Darlene; son Wayne (Sandra); his only grandchild Caitlin; as well as many family and friends. Edward was predeceased by his mother Annie; father Karl; and his beloved wife Lorraine. Edward was born on March 9, 1934, in Struan, Saskatchewan. Along with his four surviving siblings, Alexandra, Peter, Mike, and Walter, his childhood was spent on the family farm in the surrounding area. As a young adult, Edward left home to seek independence and find employment in Manitoba. It was here where he found work at Western Builders and later met Lorraine through her brother who was also employed at the same company and the rest is history as they say. Lorraine and Edward married on her birthday, September 21, 1957. They raised their family in the St. Boniface area wanting this to be their final resting place together. Edward spent many years working for Perma Structures/Pre-Con Builders forming many long lasting relationships with his co-workers. Edward was known for his gentle nature and willingness to help anyone, while expecting nothing in return. Edward was a true giver and gave all that he had to his family and friends. Ever the devoted father and grandfather, he will be sorely missed. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Sharma, and his home care attendant Madhu who provided excellent personal care to Edward for the past few years. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating Edward's life will be held on Friday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. A private family interment will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward's memory may be made to a charity of choice. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 690 Archibald St. 253-5086
