ANNE GULOWATY (nee YAREMUS) It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Anne, on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the age of 91 years. Anne will be lovingly remembered by her sons Dave (Yolande), Art (Jean), and Ken; grandchildren Ryan (Laurie) Gulowaty, Kristin (Bryan) Buchalter, Michelle (Jeremy) Thiessen, Andrew, Adrian (Carmen), Steven Gulowaty, and Curtis, Travis and Sarah Todd; great-grandchildren Rylie, Karys and Amy Buchalter, Jackson and Cassidy Thiessen, and Roman Gulowaty. Anne will also be missed by her sister Frances Blahey, brother Ken (Pauline) Yaremus, and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1986, brothers John and Bill, and sisters Tillie, Mary and Stella. Anne was born in Skylake, Manitoba in 1918. She and her family moved to Chatfield where she met Peter, and they married in 1942. Together they raised their family and farmed in Chatfield until 1968 when they moved to Winnipeg, while still enjoying many family gatherings in the country. Anne enjoyed a vast variety of hobbies and interests. She took great pleasure in tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She loved animals, and held a special place in her heart for all of their family dogs over the years. Having raised three boys and having been athletic in her youth, it was no surprise that she enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball and curling. Anne was always quick to ask her grandchildren how they did in their latest hockey or baseball game, and would want to know their number of goals or home runs scored. She had a quick wit about her and sense of humour that could always bring a smile to your face. Peter and Anne had enjoyed many vacations over the years across Canada and the United States with their family. After Peter's passing, she continued traveling to visit relatives and enjoyed the experience of going on an Alaskan cruise with her sister and nephew. Anne's greatest pleasure was being with her family, and she especially cherished her visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her much joy and happiness. Our family will forever cherish Anne's memory, and we will miss her warm smile and gentle nature. She will be loved always. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue with Father Larry Kondra CSsR officiating. Interment will take place in All Saints Cemetery. Reception will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre, 4477 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Anne's memory may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society. Vichnaya Pamyat Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
