FRANK JEROME HILDEBRAND
Born: Jun 15, 1957
Date of Passing: Sep 27, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK JEROME HILDEBRAND It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle and friend Frank Hildebrand. After a courageous battle with cancer Frank passed away peacefully on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Left to cherish his memory are his siblings Leona (John Breckenridge and daughter Joanne), Peter (Laurie and daughters Hayley and Allison), Eleanor (Jake Dyck and son Shane), David, Alan (Laura and children John, Luke and Rachel), Harvey, and Robert (Kim and son Justin); and Drayden, Raia and Lindsay. Frank was predeceased by his parents, John and Helen (Braun) Hildebrand and his sister Diane. Frank was born on July 15, 1957 in Winkler, Manitoba. His early years were spent on the family farm in Glencross and he completed his schooling in Morden. He spent many years working in Alberta in construction and the oil and gas industry before returning to Winnipeg. During the past 18 years he worked hard to achieve success in his business as a general contractor. Frank loved the outdoors and chose jobs where he could spend most of his time outside. He was athletic in his youth and excelled in hockey and baseball. He was an avid golfer, downhill skier and loved to fish and travel. His great regret was that he was unable to do the African safari he had planned. Frank's presence will be greatly missed by his family, friends and business associates. He loved being grandpa to Drayden and Raia and a father figure to Lindsay, the daughter and grandchildren of his dear friend, Jodi. Frank was a great favourite with his nieces and nephews and he was always there to offer advice and lend a helping hand. His passing comes at a time when he was looking forward to enjoying life more, and his siblings will sorely miss being able to say Hey, Frank, want to....? Family occasions will never be the same without his vitality, generosity, humour and candor. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the front line staff on GD6 (Health Sciences Centre) and at CancerCare Manitoba for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Frank's life will take place on Saturday, October 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Wiebe Funeral Chapel in Morden. Another celebration of his life will take place in Winnipeg on Tuesday, October 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Norwood Community Centre, 87 Walmer St., St. Boniface. In lieu of flowers, please support a friend or neighbour in need. Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden www.wiebefuneralhomes.com
