ROBERT F. GARNETT (BOB) 1941 - 2010 Peacefully on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 with his family and treasured friends by his side, Bob passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 69 years. Bob (Bun) worked for C.N.R. for approximately 32 years in grain operations. Bob is predeceased by his parents Gladys and Howard, and loving wife Gail in 2005. Left to cherish and mourn Bob are his sons, David (Heather), Darrin (Karen), Michael, Christopher, grandchildren Kaydence, Derrick, Airrin and Theodore, mother-in-law Margaret, brother-in-law Bob (Kaye), Twitch the family cat and many extended family members and friends. Bob was a proud father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially his special friend Nathalie (Michel) Boisjolis and her children Gabby and Noah. Bob always made himself available for his family's activities such as Scouts, soccer, bike riding, and bowling. Bob was a generous individual, always sacrificing his time to help others and to volunteer. Bob volunteered for many charitable organizations but one especially important to him was CancerCare Manitoba. He was the program director for Y.B.C. for many years at Polo Park Bowling Centre. Bob was always fond of a good game of bowling. In the summer, Bob took up lawn bowling through the St. James Lawn Bowling Club, and he enjoyed going on day trips with the Manitoba Society of Seniors. After retirement, he was introduced to the world of computers, video gaming and the Internet. He began playing video games on various systems and developed what many of us have, a Facebook addiction! The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Grace Hospital, respirologist Dr. N. Anthonisen, and family physician Dr. L. Simard-Chiu for the care and compassion shown to Bob through the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Chapel Lawn 885-9715

  • It's been almost 6 years and I miss him so much, he was the closest thing I've ever had to a grandfather and was the most loving person I've ever met. Rest easy papa. - Posted by: Gabby () on: Jul 10, 2016
