NETTIE JOSEPHINE (JO) ALVI Suddenly on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, Josephine Alvi passed away at her home at the age of 79 years. Jo will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, John Amir (Ann) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Charles Waheed, and David Khalid of Winnipeg, MB, grandchildren, Andrea (Daniel) Moskop, John, Scott and Rachel, sisters, Patricia Thornton, and Linda Watson. Jo was predeceased by her loving husband Abdul in 2006. Jo received her Bachelor of Nursing from Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. After meeting Abdul, who was studying at the same hospital, they married and moved to Canada in 1959 where she focused on raising their three children and then later, their grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2010 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Royal Canadian Mint) followed by a gathering of family and friends. The family wish to thank the many friends, all too many to mention, for your loving support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jo's memory to the charity of choice.
