Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARVEY ALLAN DELGATY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harvey Delgaty on September 3, 2010, at Concordia Hospital. Left to mourn are daughter Marilyn Lukianchuk (Tony), son David Delgaty (Lorraine), grandchildren Darren (Margaret), Lisa (Bob), Ryan and Kayla, great-grandchildren Megan and Ethan, as well as brothers Herb (Emily) and Bob (June), in-laws Jean Russel, and Beda Boychuk and extended families. Harvey was predeceased by parents Earl and Marietta, brothers Colin, Ralph and Les and sister Gleetis. Most recently he lost his beloved wife Mary in 2006, and despaired over the loss of son Ken to cancer in 2007. Harvey was born in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba on August 7, 1923 and spent his early years working with his brothers on the family farm. He later moved to Winnipeg finding employment at Security Storage for numerous years and later joined Simpson Sears as a delivery driver. Harvey wed Mary (Boychuk) and they settled in the Elmwood area and raised their family. Dad loved the outdoors and dear to his heart was spending time snowmobiling and fishing with family and friends. He spun many a tale of his youthful adventures as a young lad, endearing himself to all. The Narrows was his special getaway and he spent many good times there. On behalf of the family, our sincere appreciation to all at the River East Personal Care Home for their excellent care during Dad's stay. Following Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, October 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Highway. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Interment will take place October 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Chatsworth Cemetery in Gilbert Plains. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harvey's memory to a charity of one's choice, if so desired.
