GLADYS PINGATORE HADALLER (nee HUDSON) 1916 - 2010 Peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2010, at the Bethania Personal Care Home, Gladys passed away with her daughter by her side, at the age of 94 years. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Opal Pollard and Gail Matheson, step-son Peter (Brenda) Pingatore; grandchildren, Terry (Wendy), Lynn (Laurie), Roberta Matheson, Darren Pollard, Kathy Muntain, Kristen and Dayna Pingatore, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Gladys was predeceased by her first husband Vernon Hadaller (1979) and second husband Peter Pingatore (2001); sons-in-law John Matheson (1995) and Dennis Pollard (2009); three brothers, Allen, Joe and Els Hudson, two sisters, Pearl Fisher and Myrtle Hadaller and many in-laws. Mom worked hard all her life, first on the farm in Glass, MB, where her two daughters were born, moving to Dugald for a short time. In 1948 the family moved to Transcona and have resided since. Mom's hobbies in her younger years included baseball, bowling, curling and playing cards. She had worked at Eatons Mail Order for many years, taking a secretarial course at night school. She then worked at the Transcona Municipal Office, retiring as a Clerk of the Court at the Transcona (Winnipeg) Police Department. After retiring, she and Peter Pingatore were married and together they lovingly tended a neat and tidy home and gardens. Mom and Peter loved to travel to Nashville, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and cruises. Most important to mom were her family, especially the grandchildren and then the great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Mom was a great cook and made the best buns in town! Her exceptional talents also included sewing and crocheting. These skills were enjoyed by all her grandchildren, with her own designs of snowsuits, knitted scarves and other outfits. The family would like to thank the staff of Bethania Personal Care Home for the care and compassion extended to our mother. Funeral service to be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Avenue West. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations made to the Transcona Memorial United Church or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. We'll all miss you so much mom.
