Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK FAIRBAIRN It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, grandfather, brother and husband who passed away October 1, 2010. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Judy, Janet, and son Robert Fairbairn (Roger Norberg), granddaughter Angela Moore, and wife of 53 years, Alice. Also survived by a stepsister Louise Greenway (John). He will also be missed by grand-dog Bailey. Frank was born November 27, 1924 in Portage la Prairie. He was predeceased by his father George, mother Lillian, and stepmother Verna, and sisters Betty Egan (Jim) and Gladys Fairbairn. He served overseas in the war and upon returning, he established himself as an accountant. In 1956 he met his wife Alice and they were married shortly after. They raised their family in Transcona and resided there until present. You could always find him reading and watching TV at the same time. He liked old movies, cartoons, crossword puzzles, and jazz music. Frank and Alice enjoyed many trips together including Vegas which they enjoyed immensely. Viewing will take place on Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West. Celebration of Life will follow on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. also at the Wheeler Funeral Chapel. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Frank's homecare team who were very supportive to him and his family. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the neighbours for their thoughtfulness and support over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
