Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Jeannine (née Fontaine), daughter Joanne (Glen) Kletke, and son Michel, along with his precious grandchildren Delia and Max. Léo was born on October 31, 1950 and raised on the family farm in St. Jean Baptiste. Although Léo lived and worked in Winnipeg all his adult life he never forgot his country roots. Plans were to retire to their country home in St. Malo which Léo proudly oversaw the construction of. Léo's grandkids meant everything to him. Delia will really miss their ice-cream dates and swingin good times. In accordance with Léo's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of his life on Friday, October 8 at 1:00 p.m. with reception to follow until 4:00 p.m., at the Travelodge, 20 Alpine Ave. (St. Anne's Road and Fermor), Winnipeg. His family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all for your compassion and support. A special thank you to Rose and Dave for being there and for your assistance. Thank you also to the paramedics who worked so hard to try and save him. Flowers are gratefully declined. If family and friends so desire, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. He is yours, dear Lord and we give him back, but it's oh so hard to do. There are always things that were left undone. Yes if we only knew. You see, dear Lord we remember his smile, his touch, and his caring ways. His love for people, his zest for life, he brightened our lives and our days. Please give him, dear Lord a special place where there is no need for a tear. Peace and comfort, he deserves 'cause he sure was a treasure down here. We are hurting, dear Lord at his passing on, though we know you will carry us through. And it's joy to know he will have no more pain, that forever he'll be with you.
