MARY RAWLUK (nee BOROWETZ) May 4, 1930 - October 4, 2010 Mary Rawluk of Moosehorn, MB passed away peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2010 at the Lakeshore General Hospital at the age of 80 years. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Mike, of 59 years; her sons, Cecil (Alanna) and Dennis (Debbie); her grandchildren, Drew, Gage, Allen, Katie, Andy and Jake; her sisters, Nellie, Anne (Stan) and Olga (Harold); her brothers, Nick (Joan) and Mike (Beatrice); her sisters-in-law, Lil, Mary and Elsie; her brother-in-law, Joe; along with many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Pete and Eva; her brothers, Steve, Andy, Johnny and an infant sibling at birth. Mary grew up on a farm near Ituna, SK. After marrying Mike they lived in Winnipeg for several years, where they owned an apartment block and then a grocery store, but her love of farm life drew them to Moosehorn, where they began their farm life together. Mary was a hard worker and was very skilled in the kitchen - she made the best air buns you will ever taste and spent many days canning the produce from her garden. When Lundar Fair was approaching you would find Mary baking pies, sewing and making a variety of crafts. She proudly displayed the many ribbons she won at the fair over the years. Many family dinners were enjoyed around the table when Mother would prepare a feast for everyone. Although Mary won the battle against cancer 23 years ago, her struggle with dementia was much more difficult. We would like to thank the staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital and her home care workers, who did so much to make her life more comfortable. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, 9 Railway Avenue, Ashern, MB. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., viewing will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Moosehorn Community Hall, Moosehorn, MB. Officiant will be Jim Anderson. Interment will follow at the RM of Grahamdale Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be her six grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild, c/o Julie Bergner, P.
