ALEXANDER BUGERA On Saturday, October 2, 2010 Alex peacefully passed away at his home with his loving family by his side at the age of 86. Alex is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife Vicki, of 55 years and their children: Alexis (William), Darlene, and Dennis (Debbie); grandchildren: Julie (Cliff), Cliff (Jerri), Jenna, Shannon, Sarah (Mike), Michelle and Marsha; great-grandchildren: Tayler, Dylan, Casin, Hannah. Alex will also be greatly missed by his brother John and sisters Olga and Anne, plus many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Alex is predeceased by his brothers, Theo and Walter; sister Mary; son-in-law Russ, and Angel Rose (who is waiting for her great-grandpa in Heaven). Alex was born in Arbakka, Manitoba on March 30, 1924. After retiring in Winnipeg, from the St. James School Division, Alex and Vicki traveled for many years. Alex also enjoyed many activities with the Horizons 55+, gardening, family functions, friends and playing crib with Linda. On sunny days you would see Alex driving around Aspen Park on his scooter waving and talking to his neighbours. Service will be held on October 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Basil Church, 202 Harcourt Street, Winnipeg. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. following the services with Father Isador officiating. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at New Horizon 55+, #17 North Colonization Rd., Gimli, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Diabetes Association.
