Peacefully, with his family by his side on Saturday, October 2, 2010 Walter passed away at Concordia General Hospital. Walter was predeceased by his father, mother, sister Jessie Sokoloski, and nephew Ron Sokoloski. Walter is survived and deeply missed by his four children: son Steven (Shelley)- grandchildren Shayne, Jennifer, Meaghan (Devin) and great-granddaughter Brooklynn; son Michael (Sandie); daughter Mandy (Gary)- granddaughter Charlene and great-grandson Nakodan; daughter Lynda (granddaughter Marlee); his sister Jennie Glugosh and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends both in Canada and the Ukraine. Walter worked 33 years for C.P. Rail in the stores department and retired at age 55. Dad enjoyed his retirement spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, golfing, bowling, and travelling back home to visit family in the Ukraine. He enjoyed spending time with all the family dogs. Dad was a very generous, loving and devoted father. The family would like to thank Dr. Babick and the staff at Concordia General Hospital for taking excellent care of our father during his greatest time of need and we'd also like to thank our extended family, friends, and co-workers for their calls, prayers, and support. Service will be held on Friday, October 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 505 Watt at Munroe, with Father Michael Kwiatkowski presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Dad, you are forever in our hearts
