JOZEF EDWARD DAWISKIBA On October 4, 2010, Jozef Edward Dawiskiba, our beloved father, grandfather and great- grandfather, peacefully passed away at St. Joseph's Residence amongst his daughters and family. Jozef leaves behind his brother, Piotr Dawiskiba (Poland), and his daughters, Jozefa, Aniela, Krystyna and Diane. He also leaves behind his four sons-in-law, Walter, John, Peter and Merv. Jozef was blessed with nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Jozef was born on May 14, 1911, in Kobylowloki, USSR, son of Michal Dawiskiba and Aniela Dawiskiba (Koperczak). He married his beloved wife, Anna, on August 7, 1943 in Kobylowloki, USSR. In May, 1944 Jozef was called to military duty during the Second World War. He served in the Polish Army until October, 1945 earning several medals of distinction. After the War, he reunited with his wife in Przemysle, Poland. They traveled to their life-long residence in Gora, pow. Nysa, Poland. There they farmed and raised their family. On August 24, 1973, Jozef, Anna and Diane left all they owned and left Poland to be reunited with their two daughters, Aniela and Krystyna and extended family in Winnipeg, MB. Later in September, 1981, Jozef and Anna sponsored their eldest daughter Jozefa and her family. At last, the immediate family was together again. For many years Jozef was employed by Allmar Distributors Windows and Doors. At the urging of his family, in his latter years, Jozef retired.
