WILLIAM STANLEY (STAN) WILGOSH Peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Stan Wilgosh passed away at the Beausejour Hospital, with his sons by his side, at the age of 74 years old. Remaining to forever cherish Stan's memory are his three sons: Glen (Brenda), Bruce (Monica), Michael (Cindy); 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter: Jennifer (Braden), Jessica (Troy), Ryan, Kayla (Brent, Brooklyn), Sherelle (Barret), Dylan, Tyrell, Walker, Finnley, and Fletcher; sister Joan (Ken) Trapp; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as his dear friend Florence. He was predeceased by his loving wife Elsie, his parents Stanley Sr. and Sophie and his granddaughter Harper. Stan was born and raised in Beausejour, MB. He married his sweetheart Elsie and they moved to Winnipeg for a short time until their hearts brought them back to Beausejour. They lived in town for a short time until they bought their dream home, as we kids called it the farm. Many enjoyable years were spent raising their kids and grandkids, watching their cows and enjoying their two dogs Boomer and Missy at the farm. Alongside his father he helped run Stan's Transfer and Fuel for many years. After selling the family business Stan went and worked for the Agassiz Weed Control District until his retirement. He and Elsie travelled around the world, from Switzerland to Mexico, wintered in Texas, and travelled across Canada coast to coast. They really loved the East Coast. Stan loved to dance, and spent countless hours on the hardwood floors of many community halls. Through this he made numerous friends through the Square, Round and Old Time Dance Community. It was his favourite pastime and something he did up until his health failed. Stan also enjoyed a relaxing round of golf with his morning buddies at the Beausejour Golf Course. Stan was a devoted and active member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus (#5870). He played an active role in organizing the Old Time Dances and Malanka's for the Beausejour Community. Prayers will be held on Thursday evening, October 7, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530 Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour, MB. Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., also in the Church with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery, Beausejour, MB. The family wishes to thank Dr. Campbell, the nursing staff and the health care aides at Beausejour Hospital for the loving care they provided Stan throughout his stay. We also would like to thank the doctors and staff at CancerCare Manitoba. Flowers are graciously declined, donations in Stan's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Beausejour Hospital.
