DOREEN (FREDA) WATSON (nee ROMANS) Peacefully, surrounded by family, Doreen Watson passed away on October 5, 2010 at Red River Place. She was predeceased by her brother Donald Romans and sister Irma Curtis. She is survived by her husband Joseph Watson, sons David (Kim), Glenn (Sue), Barry (Gwen), daughter Nancy (Don) Neumann, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Hazel Trenchard and much loved and numerous extended family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was gentle, loving and patient, and she smiled often and always laughed freely. Doreen loved life and lived it to its fullest, riding her motorcycle well into her 70s, sailing, skiing, and flying airplanes and gliders. She was a well-known fixture on the streets of Selkirk, walking hand in hand with Joseph. A memorial service will take place at Green Acres Funeral Home on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Red River Place for the loving care given to Doreen in the last years of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doreen's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
