Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATIE (KATERYNA) POLNY Peacefully, on Saturday, October 2, 2010, Katie Polny passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. Katie was born October 9, 1918 in Western Ukraine. She immigrated to Canada on April 21, 1962 and became a Canadian citizen on May 14, 1971. She was employed with Rice Sportswear as a seamstress. Katie was a member of Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral and its UCWLC and Institute Prosvita. Left to cherish Katie's memory are her son John and Anastazia Polny; grandchildren Dr. Lilia Polny and Dan Hill, Dr. Bohdan and Gina Polny and Dr. Oksana and Brent LaRoche; great-grandchildren Alexander, Christian, Sebastian and Mikhail Polny. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 8 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 9 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bohdan Polny, Dan Hill, John Fuchyla, Andrew Duplak, Stephan Duplak and Roman Duplak. Special thanks to Dr. Dana Chlysta, Dr. Taras Babick, Anne Yanchyshyn and the wonderful staff and doctors at Holy Family Home for the care, support and kindness.
