Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERSH DOCTOROFF It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Hersh Doctoroff on October 5, 2010 at the age of 67 after a brief illness. Hersh will be sadly missed by his children Mara (Cheryl), Randy (Lori) his granddaughter Erin, his sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Andy, his nephew Blake, (Amy) his niece Morgan, (Erik) his very good friends Andrea, Bev and Judy as well as many other friends far too numerous to mention. Hersh was predeceased by his parents Joe and Claire Doctoroff. Hersh was born, grew up and worked in Winnipeg all of his life and as was his style, was everybody's friend. He was loved by all who knew him as gentle, giving, and unassuming. There is no formal shiva, however the family welcomes guests Friday evening and all day Saturday at Hersh's (201197 Watson St.). Thanks go out to the staff on the 6th floor at St. Boniface Hospital. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Foundation would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.

I hope that Hersh's family is able to see this after all the years that have passed. I heard about Hersh's passing only today. Many years ago Hersh lived in the upstairs suite at my Baba's and Zaida's home on Machray Ave. He became part of our huge family. We enjoyed Shabbas dinners and all the holiday meals at my Baba's table. Everyone loved Hersh.
