AUDREY GERALDINE (GERRIE) FARIS 1928 2010 On Tuesday, October 5, 2010 we lost a loving, caring and treasured Aunt and friend. Left to forever cherish her memory are her dear friend Elizabeth (Betty) Hall, her niece Dee Cyr (Bob), her nephew Doug Wood, the Greats - Darrell (Susan), David, and Debbie (Glenn Gursky) Roberts, and Randy and Damien (Lori Fredette) Cyr, and the Great-greats - Katie and Kevin Roberts, Jessica Gursky, James Pine, Noah Cyr, and Abigail Cyr. She was predeceased by her mother Mona Faris, sister Fran Wood, and niece Sharon Roberts. Audrey had a long and successful career as an educator. She taught in rural Manitoba, at CFB in Germany, at Sargent Park School, and until her retirement, at Daniel Maclntyre Collegiate. She was well liked and kept in touch with many former students and colleagues. She had a long time love of sports, excelling in softball, curling and golf. She was extremely proud of being inducted into the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame for her pitching with the CUAC Blues. The biggest love and joy in our Aunt's life was the cottage at Clear Lake where she and Betty spent many years relaxing, socializing and golfing. It brought her much happiness. A Celebration of Life to honour Audrey's memory will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Audrey's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of one's choice.
