NEETA UPADHYAYA With great love and sadness, the family announces the passing of Neeta Upadhyaya of Winnipeg on October 6, 2010 at the age of 65 years. Remaining to forever cherish memories of Neeta are her husband of 46 years, Krishna; children, Gaurav (Joanna) and Hersh (Chantille); grandchildren, David and Anjuli; foster children, Casara and Lindsay; her siblings in India, Meena (Sridhar), Ashok (Suman), Mohan (Vibha) and Asha (Dharamendra); her in-laws, late Saroj (Shiv Dutt), Kumar (Usha), late Swaroop (Meena) and Shashi (Shyam), and many other friends and family. Neeta was born in Simla, India and lived in Zambia for five years before moving to Winnipeg. Here she added to her prior B.A. (Hons) (India) in Politics, Economics and Painting, and M. Ed (Cardiff, U.K.) degrees by completing a B.A. at University of Winnipeg. She then worked at Investors Group and Great-West Life, before moving to work in a family business. She got great satisfaction from her involvement in social service, including her 25 year involvement with the phone support line, Teen Touch, where she served on the Board including as a long-time Chairperson. She also made a significant difference in the lives of many through her work as a foster parent and on the Boards of Child Health Quality Council at the Childrens' Hospital and at Com-Span Inc. Neeta loved telling humorous stories and will be much missed by all those who knew her well. Special thanks go out to the staff of Concordia Hospital. A celebration of her life will take place at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard on Saturday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
