JAKE REDEKOP July 8, 1933 October 7, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jake Redekop of Niverville, Manitoba, at the age of 77. Jake will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 51 years, Marge (nee Zacharias), son Karl and his wife Kim, and their daughter Kaytlen; daughter Louise; sister-in-law Mary Zacharias, brothers William (Roselyn), Henry (Edith), Aaron (Donna), Victor (Karen), Peter (Darcy); sister-in-law Margaret Redekop; sisters Helen (Wesley) Plett, Margaret (David) Dawes, Hilda (Stu) Cherry, and Linda (Jess) Leung, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jake was predeceased by his parents and one brother. Throughout his life, Jake was actively involved in various activities in his church and community. He has served on the Niverville Health Foundation, Corporation of Providence College, Seniors Housing, Farm Debt Review Board, Red River Co-op Board, and Niverville Credit Union. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Niverville Word of Life Mission Church, 233 3rd Street S., Niverville, MB. Viewing will be held Tuesday, October 12, at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, MB and at the church prior to the service. Interment at Hespeler Cemetery, Niverville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rising Above Ministries Aboriginal Counselling Services in Niverville.
