HELEN HALL Helen Hall (nee McMillan) passed away peacefully on September 1, 2010 with her daughter Judy by her side at Neepawa Hospital. Helen was born on December 31, 1922 in Dauphin, MB. After high school she went to Normal School in Winnipeg. She taught school at Glenholm and Erickson. On May 17, 1946 she married her husband, Earle, and they had three children: Paul, Billie and Judy. After marriage, Helen was a stay-at-home mother and the children appreciated her being there for them. When her children became more independent she followed her passion for oil painting and painted until only a couple of months ago. A retirement highlight was a three month trip with Earle to England. She battled a weak heart all her life, cancer on numerous occasions and lost a son to cystic fibrosis but she carried on, enjoying life and her family. When Earle entered Assiniboine Centre due to emphysema in 1993 she visited him daily until the day he died, almost seven years later. After Earle's passing, she left Brandon to be with Judy and her growing family in Neepawa. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Earle (2000), her son Billie (1956), and her sisters Dorothy (George) and Margaret (Archie). Surviving are son Paul (Janice), daughter Judy (Brian) Elgert, and precious grandchildren Daryl (Liz) Hall and David, Vicky and Dale Elgert. Also surviving are her brother Bill (Loreen), sister-in-law Margie Hall and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held September 7, 2010 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Elgin Hall officiating. Her daughter Judy gave a memorable tribute. Interment followed in Danvers Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cliff McArthur, Royce Quesnel, Murray Parrott, Steven Strelczik, Mervin Hall and Allan Hall. White's Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
