Date of Passing: Oct 11, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAREY (BLONDIE) MCDOUGALL My Mother - October 11, 2009 Mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was 89 years old at the time and left us much too soon. Marey (Blondie) was a long time resident of St. Charles, Manitoba, where she grew up with her sister Ann and brother John. Ann still lives in St. Vital and misses her sister very, very much. Marey went to school in St Charles and met my father Frank McDougall who predeceased her by 31 years. Marey moved to St James and we lived on King Edward Street before moving to Bertrand Street in St. Boniface and finally to our HOME on Glenlawn Avenue in St. Vital. Marey took care of many brides, bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and granddaughters when dresses for those memorable occasions needed to be made with the care and absolute love that my mother put into her dressmaking. My Mother was a loving woman that would do whatever she could for you and she brightened many lives and left many smiling faces to miss her. She was always there for me as an only child and made my life the best that it could be. I would be nothing without the love and care my mother gave to me throughout her life. I miss her so much. It is hard for a son to say goodbye to his parents but his mother leaves an emptiness that can never be filled. Only memories are left but every day I look at the pictures we have in our family room and know that you are watching over us with love and pride. Your granddaughters Andreah and Morghann miss you so much and your great granddaughter Ryleigh (who you met and held in your loving arms) and your new great granddaughter Peyton will know you more through our pictures and stories but will feel the love you would have for them. This ends a chapter in one's life. We will always remember through pictures and stories at family gatherings of the many cherished times spent at family dinners, travelling and visits. MOM, you are a very special person to me and my family and will always have a major place in our hearts and memories.
