JANICE (JAN) DOROTHEA FRIESEN (nee DRYBURGH) Janice (Jan) Dorothea Friesen (nee Dryburgh), born September 26, 1957 in Moose Jaw, SK, passed away October 10, 2010 with her husband by her side. Jan fought a year long battle with cancer. Janice was predeceased by her mom and dad, James and Dorothea Dryburgh of Moose Jaw. Also her brother Jim Dryburgh of Moose Jaw. Jan has left behind her husband Tony Douglas (Doug) Friesen and sons Tony James and Zachary Douglas Friesen of Winnipeg. Jan has also left behind brother John (Wanda) Dryburgh and daughters Tara and Jamie and their families of Saskatoon, brother Dave (Eileen) Dryburgh with kids Alec and Amanda of Moose Jaw and sister-in-law Janice McDonough (Ron), JJ and Jaclyn and families of Herbert, SK. Jan also left behind many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews on the Friesen side. Jan went to King Edward School and then onto Riverview High in Moose Jaw. Jan worked at SaskTel in Moose Jaw and Regina for 10 years. Jan moved to Winnipeg in 1989 to marry Doug, lived in Fort Garry and volunteered freely at General Byng School from 1996 to 2010. We would like to thank Canada Post, Crosspoint Church, Tache Family Medical Clinic, CancerCare Manitoba at the St. Boniface Hospital, the Palliative Care Nurses, the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital, the women of Fort Garry, all the friends and the family for all of the prayers, support, cards, emails, flowers, visits and meals that we have received. We cannot thank you enough. In lieu of flowers, please give to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Jan's life celebration will be at the Bethel Mennonite Church at 465 Stafford St., October 16 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Thomson In the Park Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Thank you from Doug, Tony and Zachary Friesen.
