MARY PROUSE 1930 - 2010 Mrs. Mary Prouse, beloved wife of Mr. Wilbert Prouse of Redcliff, Alberta, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010 at the age of 80 years. Mary also leaves to cherish her memory, one son George (Diane) Prouse; one daughter Linda (Irwin) Lindsay; five grandchildren, Ryan (Ingrid) Prouse, Jennifer (Tony) Drew and daughter Samantha, Bradley Prouse, Megan Lindsay and Catherine Lindsay; two brothers, Joe and William Shushkewich; one sister-in-law Betty Shushkewich; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Steve and Katherine Shushkewich; two brothers, Edward (Anne) and Martin; one sister Nettie (Peter) Ptashynski; and two sisters-in-law, Darcy and Joyce. Mary was born in Chatfield, Manitoba, one hour north of Winnipeg and was raised and educated in the same area. She met Wilbert Lloyd Prouse and they were married on May 4, 1951 in Winnipeg. The military life took the family to many places including Ontario, Germany and finally, Suffield, Alberta and they developed many lifelong friendships. In 1984, they retired and spent the last 26 years in Redcliff. Mary loved cooking, crossword puzzles, cruise trips with her family, and visiting family in Ontario. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. The funeral service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Blaine Schaufele officiating. A private interment will follow in the Field of Honor at Redcliff Cemetery.
