DELORIS (DEE) IRENE HENDERSON Peacefully, on Friday, October 8th, 2010, Dee passed away at the age of 84. Dee was born on July 16, 1926 in Bengough, Saskatchewan. She is survived by her sisters Norma (Norman) Davis and Shirlee (Merlyn) Valan. She was predeceased by her parents Cordelia (nee Heiberg) and William Henderson and by her dear cousin Audrey McGregor. Dee will be lovingly remembered by Audrey's children Debbie, Patti and Gord. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and cousins, including Gord's boys Darryl, Matthew and Scott, as well as Betty McGregor. She will also be missed by her many American relatives and friends, including the extended Davis and Valan families. Dee moved to the Winnipeg area in the mid-1950s. She spent many years as a barber and later as a school bus driver. Dee loved animals, especially horses and dogs. She liked nothing better than to spend time outdoors taking care of the horses. She was also gifted artistically. She translated her love of animals into oil and watercolor paintings as well as wood carvings and furniture. In keeping with Dee's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will occur at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 9Z9 or a charity of your choice.
