Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWANDA OLESZKO (nee TARGONSKA) Peacefully, with her entire family lovingly surrounding her, Wanda passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on a sunny afternoon, Friday, October 15, 2010. Wanda was born on April 5, 1933 in Pruszkow, Poland. After the war, she immigrated to Canada in 1949 with her mother, brother and sister. In 1950, she met the love of her life, Wladyslaw, in Winnipeg and they married in 1953. They raised their family in the first and only home that they purchased in St. Boniface in 1955. Our home was filled with joy and laughter. Remaining to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Wladyslaw (Walter); five children, Liz (Hugh) Price and grandchild Thomas; Alice (Allan) Wiebe and grandchildren, Jaime and Julie; Helen Oleszko; Irene (Derek) Shewchukand, grandchildren, Cole and Hannah; and Ed (Laura) Oleszko and grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Erika and Colin; sister Janina Adamus; sisters-in-law, Sophie Targonski and Steffie Oleszko; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Wanda, our wife, Mama and Babcia, was a caregiver. Her whole life was dedicated to her family. She went out of her way to provide unconditional love and support to each and every one of us. Wanda loved people and radiated love and affection. Her smile and laughter were contagious. Wanda had very strong religious beliefs and was a spiritual person. She was beautiful, kind and special. We are so very blessed and grateful for how she has enriched all of our lives. Our family wishes to express our sincerest gratitude to the staff of St. Boniface Hospital 5B. Over the course of the last four and a half months they have provided compassionate and exemplary care and support to our entire family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wanda's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation or a charity of your choice. Prayers will be said at 10:45 a.m. with Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at St. Andrew Bobola Roman Catholic Church, 541 Marion Street with Rev. Fr.
