Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGUDBJORG BEATRICE HANNESON After ailing for many years Bea passed away on October 17, 2010 at Valleyview Care Home in Brandon, Manitoba. Bea was born May 9, 1920 at Gladstone, the only daughter of Oli and Magnusina Hanneson. She was predeceased by her parents and leaves to mourn her only brother Oscar and his wife Grace (Winkie); nephews Bill, David (Lori), Lindsay (Thelma); nieces Gail (Chris) Judd, Denise (Chuck) and their families, as well as cousins and friends. The family moved from their farm at Plumas to Lakeland in 1922. There Beatrice went to school until taking her Grade 9 by correspondence at home. To complete her high school she went to live with her uncle and aunt (Hislop) in Winnipeg. After graduating she took one year of nursing at Wesley College. She was unable to continue due to health. After recovery she went to Secretarial School at Success and then worked for McLeods head office in Winnipeg for many years. She was proficient in typing and shorthand. Those were happy years and she made many friends and was very close to her cousin Thelma Wild. They roomed together and travelled extensively in Canada to Vancouver, Banff, Calgary and many resort areas. However after another bout of illness Bea came home to be with her parents in Winnipeg and upon recovery took a position in Calgary for awhile. Bea loved music and was a devout Christian never missing church while living in Langruth with her retired parents and also at services at the care home. She even tried to sing You Are My Sunshine to one of the nurses when she was so very ill. Bea was a pet with the care home staff and was lovingly cared for in the 12 years she was there. We are forever thankful to them for their excellent and loving care. Bea never married and was 90 on her last birthday. We shall miss her and remember her with love. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church in Langruth with Rev. Phillis Thordarson officiating. Interment will take place in the Langruth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church in Langruth. Clarke's Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements. www.clarkesfuneralhome.com
