Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryISABEL SOKOLOWSKI January 1, 1920 - October 15, 2010 On Friday, October 15, 2010, our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away at Concordia Place at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband John, Mom leaves to forever cherish her memory her five children: Joanne (Bob) Baccus, Barbara, Rick (Cathy), Donna Scharikow, and Brian; seven grandchildren: Kristin (Darryl) Friend, Nicole (Kevin) Stoddart, Karen (Chris) Petch, Carly (Neil) Mochnacz, Grant (Claudia) Baccus, Mary Sokolowski and Natalie Sokolowski; as well as seven great-grandchildren. Isabel will be sadly missed by her sisters Anne (Mel) Davey and Elsie Simmons, brother and sister-in-law Walter and Vicki Sokolowski, and sister-in-law Jean Sokolowski, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was an industrious woman and would seldom be found sitting idly. She constantly kept busy with cooking, gardening, working for many years at Eaton's, and much loved visits with grandchildren and later great-grandchildren. Mom's life centered around her family with the happiest times spent with her children at family dinners, special occasions, holidays or just simply being there ready and happy to lend a helping hand as a parent, grandparent, friend, confidante or mentor. (Her awesome recipes and cooking skills will be passed on through the generations!) Mom was truly the heart of her family! Isabel will always be remembered for her enduring independent spirit that she refused to give up, even when faced with life-changing challenges that prevented her from doing much of what she had so enjoyed earlier in her life. The family wishes to thank the staff of Concordia Place Personal Care Home for the excellent care and compassion given to Isabel. In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to make a donation in Isabel's memory to the Manitoba Lung Association or a charity of choice. A memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., on Saturday, October 23, at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Heather Sandilands officiating. A private family interment will take place prior to the memorial service. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

Hi, I came across this name. I am looking for my family history. I would like to ask you what was Isabel's father and mother's name? Where they come from originally? Thank you very much - Posted by: edita sokolowski (?) on: Jan 24, 2012
