PAUL SOKOLIUK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, son and brother Paul Sokoliuk on October 17, 2010 in the CCU Unit at the Health Sciences Centre. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his sons Dwayne and Alan, grandson Logan. Also left to cherish his memory is his mother Ann Sokoliuk, brothers Ben, George (Carol), Orest (Audrey), Emil (Jackie), Lawrence (Cathy). Brothers-in-law Martin (Nell) Chobotar, John (Carol) Chobotar, Walter (Francis) Chobotar, Bill (Janet) Chobotar as well as numerous nephews, nieces and many family and friends. Paul was predeceased by his wife Mary; father John, sister-in-law Clover, his father and mother-in-law Michael and Dora Chobotar. Paul was born on February 27, 1944 and grew up in the Sundown area and married the love of his life Mary Chobotar on May 28, 1966. Paul held several positions before finding his niche as Warehouse Foreman with the Manitoba Liquor Commission until his retirement. Paul loved to go fishing and many family and friends can attest by the abundance of fish feasts that were held in his home. As well, his love for hunting did not go fruitless. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. with funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Deacon Leon Twerdun officiating.
