ERNEST (SONNY) HOHENSTEIN 1926 - 2010 Sonny passed away at Grace Hospital on Monday, October 18, 2010. Sonny is survived by his daughters, Doreen (Jack) Bilodeau and Carolin (Ken) Burke, grandchildren, Jared and Jayne Bilodeau. He was predeceased by his wife Freda in 2001 as well as infant daughter Donna and all his siblings. Ernest was born in Brunkild, Manitoba and the youngest child of William and Emily Hohenstein. He was born deaf, but this did not deter him from working and providing for his family. He was very proud of his profession as a bulldozer operator, working for Bird Construction for many years and later Building Products until his retirement. He accomplished any task he set his mind to including electrical, mechanical and carpentry projects. Sonny loved dancing and enjoyed getting together with friends and family and was always the life of the party. Family was very important to him and he was particularly proud of his grandchildren. We would like to thank nurse Val on the 5th Floor at Grace Hospital for her care and attention, we would also like to thank neighbours, Bobby and Susan for the special shopping trips and helping with chores.
