ARCHIE KUSHNIR Nothing can erase the painful imprints on our mindsbut there are softer memories that time will help us find It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Archie at his residence on October 18, 2010, as always, Kurt was there, this time to say goodbye. He was born in Winnipeg to John H and Mary Kushnir on January 11, 1937 where he lived all of his life. Many enjoyable childhood summers were spent on the farm in Fraserwood with uncle Mike and his beloved auntie Kay Kuz and their daughters, Gloria, Carol and Grace. Archie started Northland Plumbing in 1969 and was so proud to have it carried on by his son Derek and family. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons Kurt arid Derek (Judy); daughter Tannis (Paul); sister Diane and her girls Kim and Mardo; sister in law and brother in law, Maxine and Gordon Murison and their children Melanie and Robert and their families. He was Grandpa to Cole and Dylan and Papa to Ty and Brandon, Liam and little princess, Ellison. He enjoyed hunting. snowmobiling, wood cutting, flying (recklessly breaking all of the rules) playing Santa to many young ones and telling his constant jokes. After retirement, most days started with his coffee buddies at the Oldie where they self diagnosed their medical problems and solved all of the world problems. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service. Besides family, one of Archie's greatest loves were his pet birds and animals. If anyone so wishes, donations could be made to the Gimli Animal Shelter in his name. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
