Ruth was born in 1912 near Moosehorn, MB. She married Nick and lived in the Elmwood area for most of her life until moving to Oakbank. At her modest home on Bowman Ave. she took great pride in keeping her lawn and beautiful roses cared for every year. There was no greater joy for her than knowing and sharing with others God's hope for the future, according to the Bible. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Ruth looked forward to the coming time when pain, sickness, and death will no longer exist (Rev. 21:4). Her hope in a future paradise earth gave her great strength and courage in coping with life's challenges and contributed to her living to 98 years of age. Ruth loved spending time with her family engaging in many different activities such as knitting, sewing, fishing, blueberry picking and travelling. She was dear to so many people and fulfilled the role of an aunt so well that she was known as Auntie Ruth not only by her family, but also by many friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Wiebe and the staff at Kin Place Personal Care Home for their efforts and care in looking after Auntie Ruth. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Seasons Funeral Chapel 576 Balsam Cres. in Oakbank, MB.
