WILLIAM HOLT It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Holt on October 13, 2010 at the age of the 93. Bill is predeceased by his son Gary. He is survived by his wife Molly, son Murray, (Ruth Urquhart), daughter Susan (Jeff Gindin), and his grandchildren Jonathan (Kristin), David (Teresa), Rachel, Carly, Laura, Jamie, Joey, and Benji. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces in California, about whom he cared deeply. Bill was born in Winnipeg in 1917 to immigrant parents. He served in the Canadian Air Force in the Second World War. After his return from the service he started a business that evolved into a metal recycling company with the help of his two sons. His greatest loves were his grandchildren, watching sports, current events, and his involvement with Herzlia Synagogue and the Jewish community. A funeral was held on October 16, 2010 at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jonathan Holt, David, Holt, Joey Rothman, Benji Rothman, Gerald Rosner, and Marshall Rosner. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to Herzlia Synagogue.
