PETER W. NOWAKOWSKI October 5, 1934 October 20, 2010 Peter Nowakowski of Cochrane passed away peacefully at the Agapé Hospice on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the age of 76 years. He is lovingly remembered by Rose, his wife of 47 years, their children Michelle (Trever), Michael, Holly (Mark), Craig (Debbie) and their beloved grandchildren Brandon, Sarah, Sydney, Duff and Declan. Peter is also survived by his brothers John and Henry (Edie) and sisters Gloria (Gordon) and Agnes. He was predeceased by his parents John and Nellie and infant brother Francis. Peter was born near Clandonald, AB and left the family farm to join the RCMP in 1955. He served proudly in Northern BC, the Northwest Territories, the Yukon and finally in Manitoba. Peter retired from D Division in 1990. He was a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus for almost 40 years. Peter enjoyed service to church and community alongside his brother Knights. Since moving to Cochrane with Rose in 1998, Peter spent many quiet days at Mount Saint Francis Retreat where he could be found in the garden or on the tractor cutting the grass. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at St. Mary's Catholic Church (corner of Highway 22 and River Heights Drive, Cochrane) on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church (corner of Highway 22 and River Heights Drive, Cochrane) on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Photos, memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Peter's site at www.evanjstrong.com.
