Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE BAIN 1925 2010 Marie Bain of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice on October 19, 2010 at the age of 85. She was born in Caliento, Manitoba on January 14, 1925 and spent most of her adult life in Winnipeg before moving to Red Deer in 1991. Her primary occupation was a bookkeeper. She worked for several businesses in Winnipeg as well as Neighbours Petro-Canada in Red Deer before retiring in 1998. Marie enjoyed her family and friends. She led a very active life, which included volunteering at the Pines Lodge in Red Deer until recently. She loved gardening, reading, watching classic movies, and was always up on the latest news and current events. She was an avid collector of anything related to birds and butterflies. Marie loved dressing up for all the holidays and her friends on Piper Drive always looked forward to seeing what she came up with next. Marie loved spending Sundays with her daughter Carmen, her grandson Jason, and her great-granddaughter Emma and also enjoyed her summer visits to Winnipeg to spend time with her daughter Debbie and family. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Debbie (Helmut) Graumann of Winnipeg and Carmen Bain of Red Deer; grandchildren Jason (Heather) of Red Deer, John (Allison) and Lori (Mark) of Winnipeg; great-grandchildren Brandon and Emma. She will also be fondly remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and treasured friends. She was predeceased by her parents and 10 siblings and is survived by her sister Pauline (Ontario), and brothers Andy (Ethel) of Winnipeg and Pete of British Columbia. A special thank you to the nurses and nursing attendants at the Peter Lougheed Center in Calgary as well as the Red Deer Hospice for their excellent care. At Marie's request, there will not be a service. Cremation has been entrusted to the Red Deer Funeral Home Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Ave., Red Deer, AB, T4R 3S6 or to the Canadian Cancer Society. WE LOVE YOU NANA!
