JEANNE CHAPUT (nee BERUBE) Peacefully with her family at her side, Jeanne, dearly beloved wife of the late Joseph Chaput passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the Taché Nursing Centre at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her husband Jos in 1990, her grandson Richard Labossière in 2009, and her son-in-law Robert Barrott in 2010; her brothers Lucien, Roland, René and her sisters Marie-Paule Wilson, Thérèse Restivo, Margaret Haines and Annette Mercier. She leaves to cherish her memory Denise (John Doiron), Lorraine (Roger Labossière), Joe (Sharon), Jacquie (Ross McLeod), and Mandy Barrott, as well as 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters-in-law Terry Chaput-Voyer and Marguerite Bérubé, and one brother-in-law Robert Haines, numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanne was born in St. Claude, MB on May 25, 1920 to Paul-Emile and Maria Bérubé (Tessier). Moving to St. Boniface at an early age, she later met and married her husband Joseph in 1943. Some of mom's happiest times were her summers spent at Villa Madeleine in Albert Beach. She loved to sew and made many of her children's clothes. She also worked alongside her husband at Chaput Brothers Grocery Store. For many years she enjoyed singing in the St. Boniface Cathedral choir. She especially loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family expresses their thanks to the staff at 2ABC Taché Nursing Centre for their compassionate and kind care of our mom over the last ten years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation, D1003 - 409 Taché Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6, or any charity of your choice. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2010 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26 at the St. Boniface Cathedral, with Father Marcel Damphousse presiding. Viewing will take place prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Private interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
