Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Lajeunesse, parents Hugh and Jessie Walker, sister Jean Balichowski, and brothers Bob and John Walker. She will be sadly missed by her son Leonard Lajeunesse, daughter Bonnie-Jean Vincent, beloved granddaughters Jessica and Julianna Vincent, sister Anne Klea, brothers Hugh, Alec and Douglas Walker, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends. Beatrice was born on August 17, 1936 in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she lived until moving to Kenora in 1960 after her marriage to Lawrence. Beatrice was a woman with a big voice and a big laugh but above all a big heart. She was a cheerful, fun-loving person who loved to laugh and whose quick wit and entertaining personality often provided joy and laughter to others. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, welcoming visitors from near and far with a smile and a funny story, served with a cup of coffee, a snack or a meal. She had a very generous nature and was always willing to share whatever she had, even if it meant doing without for herself. Beatrice was confronted with many challenges in her life, all of which she faced with faith, strength and determination while always managing to maintain her wonderful sense of humour. The family would like to thank Dr. Workman and the 2nd floor staff of Lake of the Woods District Hospital for the comfort and care provided to Beatrice during her illness. Many staff members regarded her as a wonderful lady and a real character . In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Lakeside Baptist Church with interment at Lake of the Woods Cemetery to follow. God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be, He wrapped you in His loving arms and whispered, Come to Me. You suffered much in silence, your spirit did not bend. You faced your pain with courage until the very end. You tried so hard to stay with us, your fight was all in vain. God took you in His loving arms and freed you from your pain. A golden heart stopped beating, two gentle hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Your presence we all miss. Your memory we treasure.
