JOHN LOUIS BOSACE
Date of Passing: Oct 21, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN LOUIS BOSACE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Louis Bosace in the early morning hours of October 21, 2010. John was born in Paris, France in 1929 and moved to the United States with his father in 1945. His educational journey took him from Idaho, to Vermont, to Iowa, and then to Michigan, with an interruption to serve in the U.S. Army in Germany. In 1960, he accepted an appointment to teach in the French Department at United College (now the University of Winnipeg), thinking he would stay for two years. Those two years turned into a lifetime of stability and commitment to those he loved as well as to those he taught. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 50 years, Jane, his stepmother Paulette Bosace of Reno, Nevada, his cousin Baudouin Gaignerot of France, his wife's brothers and sister in the United States, as well as many friends, former students and colleagues. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Germaine, his stepfather Daniel Soula, and his cousin Franz Gaignerot. John was a deeply philosophical man whose search for perfection was evident in all that he did, be it as a craftsman or as a teacher. His commitment to all whom he loved was unwavering. Special thanks to Anne, Glenn and Simeon Rusnak for always being there. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue, with Father Michael Koryluk officiating. If friends so choose, in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Rossbrook House, or to the University of Winnipeg Foundation, for a scholarship to be established in his name. John and I were friends at ISU. Sorry to hear of his passing. - Posted by: Dean Montgomery (Friend) on: Jan 11, 2019

I knew John at Idaho State University. I thought he was a great guy. He decided at one time to enter the US Air Force as a pilot. He went to pilot training but decided to quit. It was not for him. He came home then went to the US Army. He left ISU, then I heard he was in Michigan. My wife and I wrote him letters when he was in France. He and I used to show off with handstands and muscles at the beach at American Falls reservoir out of Pocatello, Idaho. I also was born in 1929, so we were of the same age. Maybe, his stepmother remembers me. John was a scholar and a gentleman. - Posted by: Dean Montgomery (Friend in Idaho) on: Mar 04, 2013
