Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES D. MCKEAN November 4, 1935 - October 22, 2010 Peacefully with family by his side, Jimmy slipped away Friday, October 22, 2010. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Dorothy; daughter Alexis (Frank); granddaughters Kirsten and Jenna (Travis) and their dad George, as well as his sister Gail (Barry), two nephews, two nieces and families and Uncle George. Also missing Jim are two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and families. Besides the time he spent in the Canadian Army, Jim worked first for the City of Winnipeg, followed as a trucker for Sobeys Ltd. from where he retired. Jimmy was a long time member of Winnipeg South Osborne 252 and Rockwood 303. He spent many happy times there with family and friends. He loved to go deer hunting and looked forward to every November and getting together with his hunting buddies. Jim also enjoyed cribbage, shuffleboard and sometimes darts. We also spent many happy times at Tall Timber Lodge. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation go out to the staff at CancerCare, especially Dr. Maksymiuk and family physician Dr. Khanghura and all staff at Riverview Palliative Ward. Also thanks to family and friends who have been there for us throughout these trying times. With respect to Jimmy's final wishes cremation has taken place with plans for a private remembrance gathering.
