Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY WOODWARD It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Harry. He passed away peacefully the morning of October 25, 2010 at St. Boniface Hospital. Harry will be remembered by his loving wife Yvonne after 52 years of marriage. He will be sadly missed by his three sons, Steve, Mike and Jeff (Laurie) and grandchildren, Scott, Kayla, Jennifer and Nicholas. Harry also leaves two sisters, Joyce and Thelma in England. Harry was born in Yorkshire, England, August 10, 1929, he was the youngest of seven children, having six older sisters. Harry moved to Canada in 1956 and met Yvonne shortly thereafter and married the next year. Harry was an avid golfer, curler and overall sports fan. Harry became a hockey fan while supporting his three sons in their sporting endeavours. He volunteered at Glenwood Community Club holding many roles including coach and club president. Harry was a voracious reader and a great John Wayne and Willie Nelson fan. Harry was employed at Standard Aero from 1956 until his retirement in 1990. He was known for his quick wit and ability to speak in front of a crowd resulting in being the MC at many company events. In the early years of his retirement, Harry and Yvonne travelled to England, Texas, Victoria and also enjoyed many trips to Minnesota and North Dakota. He also golfed and curled as much as possible while supporting his grandchildren in their many activities. Harry never wanted to be a burden to anyone; he put the people around him first and kept his positive thoughts and sense of humour to the end. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Boniface Hospital for their smiles and excellent care. A service will be held Thursday, October 28, in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 1531 Pembina Hwy. at 11:00 a.m.
