KAY ANDRUSIAK It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on October 23, 2010 at the Whispering Pine Lodge, Vita, Manitoba. Mom was born in Arbakka, Manitoba on February 9, 1915 and grew up on the family homestead. In 1936 she met her long time love Nick and was married October 3, 1937. They did mixed farming south of Sundown until 1970 when they began retirement. Together they continued gardening, keeping the yard cut neatly and enjoying various Bingos. Embroidery, crocheting, petit-point pictures and cooking meals for family get togethers were her hobbies. Mom and Dad moved to Vita Shady Oak Lodge in 1990. After Dad's passing she remained there until 2002, then moving to The Whispering Pine Personal Care Home Lodge. Mom was predeceased by husband Nick, her parents Wasyl and Sophia, brothers Matt, George, John, sister Helen, nephew Ronald, and brother-in-law Roger. Mom will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son John (Julia), granddaughter Susan (Dale) Allen, great-grandchildren Samantha, Benjamin, Matthew, numerous relatives, friends and neighbours. Our sincere thanks to all the staff at The Whispering Pine Lodge for the excellent care provided and kindness extended to our family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The Whispering Pine Personal Care Home, 217-1st Avenue West, Vita, MB R0A 2K0. Prayers will be on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Michael Skrumeda and Father Myron Pozniak officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery.
