ORMOND (ORMIE) LESLIE ROBINSON Ormond (Ormie) Leslie Robinson passed away peacefully on October 22, 2010 at the Victoria General Hospital. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Robinson and is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Wilda Robinson, his daughter Kathy Robinson-Hays and son-in-law, James Terry Hays. The family is eternally grateful to the staff of the Victoria General Hospital for their extraordinary efforts to assist during this difficult time. Ormie was born in Winnipeg and graduated from Kelvin High School. He spent most of his working career as a salesman for the Campbell Soup Company. Ormie was an excellent golfer, past president and honorary life member of the Southwood Golf and Country Club. He made many friends at Southwood, with whom he remained close for many years. Especially important was his coffee group who continued to meet and swap stories long after their golfing years ended. His kindness and good humour touched many lives over his 95 years. However, his family always came first. He was a proud and devoted father and husband. Against all odds and despite his own ill health, his strength of spirit, determination and, above all, his love for Wilda allowed them to remain together and live independently until the last few days of his life. The family is grateful for all those in the community who helped to make that a reality. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1932, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 3R2. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
