Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUBY OLAFSON (nee DANIELS) With heavy hearts, Ruby's family announces her sudden but peaceful passing on October 26, 2010 at the age of 86. Ruby was born at home on October 16, 1924 in Peguis, MB. Mom had a kind and generous heart. She loved life and her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She became a Bahá'i in 1982 and served with joy and dignity. She encouraged all to find and follow their spiritual path. Ruby was predeceased by her husband Lawrence; parents Peter and Rachel; sisters Winnie, Violet, Nancy May and brothers Stanley and Peter; grandchildren Kyle, Bjorn and Michael. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Bernice (Purvis), Herbert (Liz), Dickie, Debra (Kalvin), Louella (Andy), Lloyd (Michele), Lawrence (Norma), 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn her passing, her sisters, Gladys (Bob), Marina, Doreen (Don) and brother-in-law Roy Olafson. The family wishes to thank the Betel Home, Selkirk, for their care and support over the years she was with them. Viewing will take place Thursday, October 28 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 29, at 11:00 a.m. also in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Clinton, Bradley, Darren, Jake, Eric, and Holden. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her honour to a charity of your choice. I have made death a messenger of Joy to thee Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
