HELEN SWANWICK (KIRK) January 16, 1932 - October 24, 2010 Helen passed away suddenly, at home, on October 24, at the age of 78. She will be missed by her children, Susan (Richard) of Headingley, Graeme (Arlene) of Red Lake, ON and Pamela (David) of Revelstoke, BC; and her grand-children, Brad, Jennifer, Curtis, Evan, Mitchell and Emma. Helen is also survived by her brothers, Alan (Marilyn) of Toronto, Gordon (Ann), Alastair (Cath); and sister May (Alec) at home in Scotland, plus many nephews and nieces in Toronto and Scotland. Helen came to Canada in 1958 with her husband, Keith. Keith's military career took them to many places in Canada, England and the U.S. before they finally settled in Winnipeg in 1976. After Keith passed away in December, 1998, Helen retired from her job at Doubletex, and was able to spend more time with her much loved grandchildren and at her favourite pastime...Bingo. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Winnipeg Humane Society or any charity of your choice. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
