Date of Passing: Oct 29, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySCOTT RANDALL ZAIKOW May 26, 1979 - October 29, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Randall Zaikow in the early hours of Friday, October 29, 2010. Left to cherish Scott's memory are his partner Erin Parsons and family, his aunt Susan Zaikow and family, his mother Karen Bachewich and family, also his friends. Scott was born on May 26, 1979 to Karen Bachewich and Randy Zaikow. Scott grew up in St. James and Transcona, staying with his parents and grandparents alternately. He attended Sturgeon Creek High School. Scott enjoyed baking and cooking with his grandmother from an early age though initially thought he would work with computers. Recently, his interest in cooking resurfaced, and he was looking forward to starting the Culinary Arts program at Red River in January .....planning to open a Russian-themed restaurant one day. Scott had an insatiable thirst for knowledge on any subject, and was always eager to share his findings with anyone. He loved any music with substance, trips to Lockport and Selkirk with Susan and Grandma on Saturdays, political (and social) satire, and BBC World News. Scott had a huge heart, which was most evident in his love and devotion to his grandmother. It is something to be admired, especially in the last few years as, unknown to us, ALS was starting to take her away. He would do anything for her, and was a great comfort to her during her final weeks. There are no words for how much we will miss you .... our Scott, Skitch, Scoot, Scotty .... Celebration of Scott's life will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Transcona Cemetery. FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS IN CARE OF: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE WEST AT BOND ST. 224-1525
